Jinji Lake Scenic Area records 645,700 tourist arrivals during Dragon Boat Festival holiday

The Jinji Lake Scenic Area in SIP recorded 645,700 tourist arrivals during the Dragon Boat Festival from June 8 to 10, up 20.65% year-on-year. The eight major tourist product and service suppliers around Jinji Lake raked in operating incomes of about RMB100 million, and the total operating income of nine hotels in this area saw a YoY growth of 8.73%.



Many people watched the 2024 Jinji Lake Dragon Boat Race which, reported by CCTV Morning News, gathered 66 teams consisting of over 1,000 people including both Chinese and expatriates.



The fair held at Moon Harbor at the same time was another eye-catcher. Over 50 booths offered the participants a good opportunity to learn about various intangible cultural heritage items and folk customs. It was also coupled with a food carnival with delicious Chinese and exotic food.




Businesses offered favorable discounts, coupons and digital red envelopes containing digital RMB to the consumers.



The Jinji Lake Music Fountain gave fantastic water and light shows, creating a romantic atmosphere.



Diverse art exhibitions including the one themed “Van Gogh and His Friends” attracted lots of people.


The Jinji Lake Scenic Area Left Bank Tourist Center hosted an event for youngsters to learn to make paper dragon heads, and the Shin Kong Place Babies School organized an event for parents and children to make handiworks related to the Dragon Boat Festival together.



Harmony Times Square also hosted a fair, and Suzhou Eslite Bookstore, Suzhou Center Mall and Jiuguang Department Store organized events to celebrate the festival.
