Latest report on SIP's ecological environment released

Recently, the 2024 Suzhou Industrial Park Ecological Environment Status Report was released. It shows continuous improvement in the local ecological environment quality.
In 2024, the days with fine and good air quality accounted for 84.7%, a 3.6 percentage point increase year-on-year, marking the best level since the beginning of the 14th Five-Year Plan period. Notably, the annual average PM2.5 concentration of SIP’s functional zones ranged between 25.9 to 27.5 micrograms per cubic meter, with acid rain incidence and annual average dust deposition showing steady declines.
Water environment quality continued to improve, with the water quality at both of the two centralized drinking water sources reaching the set standards, and that at all of 18 monitoring sites at different levels meeting the Class III standards. The water quality of Jinji and Dushu lakes have maintained at the Class III level for two consecutive years.
The local acoustic environment quality met high standards, with average equivalent sound level during daytime maintained at 56.5 dB (Level 3), and that during nighttime at 50.2 dB (Level 4).
Last year, SIP’s ecological environment quality met Class III standards, with biodiversity steadily improving. Over 30 species of terrestrial vascular plants were newly recorded, and recorded species of birds, phytoplankton, zooplankton and fish increased.
