SIP’s Jinji Lake Scenic Area recorded 659,600 tourist arrivals during this year’s Dragon Boat Festival holiday, which lasted from May 31 to June 2. Nine key commercial projects around Jinji Lake, including the Jinji Lake Cruise, Ferris wheel and Suzhou Center Mall, reported operating incomes totaling more than RMB100 million, a year-on-year increase of nearly 6%.
The 2025 Jinji Lake Dragon Boat Race held on the Dragon Boat Festival on May 31 attracted 69 teams of contestants and tens of thousands of spectators. The event was featured in a China Central Television (CCTV) news report. Two fairs held concurrently boasted over 200 booths selling various products.
The Jinji Lake Music Fountain attracted lots of people with its romantic water and light shows in the evening, and the newly upgraded Ferris wheel by Jinji Lake gave the riders a fantastic experience.
Diverse exhibitions and performances, such as the contemporary art exhibition themed “Where the Spirit Returns to” at Jinji Lake Art Museum and the concert featuring music from classic animation works produced by Shanghai Animation Film Studio, attracted many people, too.
Other attractions, like the Dang Dang Life Festival and a variety of fairs and bazaars, drove consumption upgrading.
In addition, the sales promotions at major shopping malls and the festival offerings at different hotels boosted consumption.
