This month, major art museums and distinctive art spaces in SIP offer a variety of exhibitions, giving visitors immersive cultural and artistic experiences.

The “Panning for Gold” Fang Lijun Art Exhibition is underway at Jinji Lake Art Museum, and will last till Sept 6. The exhibition, featuring oil paintings, traditional Chinese ink paintings, ceramics, prints, and installations, traces the over-40-year creative journey of Fang Lijun, a leading figure in contemporary art in China. Notably, its “Ocean Waste” series blend aesthetics with the concern for environmental issues.

The Ye Fan Solo Exhibition at Suzhou Eslite Bookstore, scheduled from Apr 21 to June 14, highlights over 20 installations and paintings that the artist created revolving around the question: How We Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Robot.

The Wu Jianhua’s Couplet Calligraphy Exhibition is on view at SIP Urban Art Space. It systematically showcases calligrapher Wu Jianhua’s attainments over many years of artistic practices, highlighting the charm of both Chinese characters and calligraphy. It will run until June 21.

The “Messiah Deferred Theatre -Liao Xiaozhou” exhibition at the Iris Art Realm in Ligongdi Cultural and Creative Block breaks the boundaries between exhibition hall and theater, integrating theatrical “performance” into installation art. Neighboring it, the “Zigsen Liu: Erasure in the Permanent” exhibition takes the relationship between the cosmos and the individual as its creative thread, weaving traditional elements, modern symbols, and mechanical forms into a complex tapestry. Through the interplay of reality and illusion, it explores the human spiritual compass in the age of technology.

Other ongoing exhibitions include the Fine Arts Exhibition of the Designers at the Ming Gallery of Art, and the “Where Serenity Resides” exhibition at the M Art Museum.

Moreover, the “Call the Name of Light” exhibition, which is designed to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Ultraman series (Japanese sci-fi-themed franchise), will open at Younan Art Gallery soon.
