On the evening of July 25, the opening ceremony of the finals of the 6th “Sungent 2034 Cup” Primary School Students’ Football Games (U12) was held at the Suzhou Olympic Sports Centre (SZOSC), SIP. A total of 128 teams from across China and overseas, comprising nearly 2,600 young players, will compete in 448 matches during eight days.

This year’s tournament attracted 882 teams attending 39 regional qualifiers, with 128 teams ultimately advancing to the finals. Among them, three international teams—from Laos, Thailand, and Uzbekistan—competed for the first time.
The openers and the championship final are scheduled at the SZOSC, and other matches at several top-level football fields across SIP.

The first match saw host team SZOSC Youth take on Shanghai Shanglong, while the second match featured Chinese Football Boy, who won the championship in the final of Italy’s Sigismondi Cup, against a team from Wuhan. After intense competition, SZOSC Youth triumphed 3:0 over Shanghai Shanglong to claim the first victory, while Chinese Football Boy secured a 3:1 win.

It is worth mentioning that, from July 25 to Aug 1, the event is paired with a variety of activities including public football classes, interesting interactions and football culture promotion campaigns, and participants can enjoy multiple discounts at a number of tourist destinations, shopping spots, hotels and restaurants in SIP by showing ticket stubs from the event.
