The 2024 (3rd) Suzhou Jinji Lake China-France Culture and Art Week kicked off in Suzhou, China and Paris, France concurrently on Oct 5, and will last till Oct 20.

Suzhou and Paris share a profound history. In late 2021, the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) and Paris je t’aime - Tourist office concluded a friendship and cooperation agreement, and the Ligongdi block in SIP and the Montmartre of Paris also concluded a friendly block agreement. The previous two sessions of Suzhou Jinji Lake China-France Culture and Art Week held under the agreement have enhanced the ties between Suzhou and Paris.

The 2024 edition of the event encompasses fairs, parades, exhibitions, music, ballets, movies and literature which are expected to promote cultural exchanges between Suzhou and Paris.

“A delegation from SIP will participate in the Fête des Vendanges de Montmartre (Grape Harvest Festival in Montmartre). It will be the first time that a Chinese delegation partakes in the event, and products from Suzhou will be shown and sold at the event,” said a source close to the event.

A cultural fair opened concurrently as part of the festival, and will last till Oct 7. It boasts a mixture of Chinese and French food along with traditional and modern artistic and fashionable elements.

The exhibition of artistic installations by six Chinese and French artists started, and will last till Oct 30, and a food festival is scheduled from Oct 5 to 20.
