Diverse services to ensure a happy Spring Festival

As the Chinese Spring Festival is getting closer, the joyful atmosphere is filling every corner of SIP, and SIP authorities and local service organizations have launched considerate services to ensure all the people in SIP can enjoy a happy holiday next week.

Many expatriates and their families recently experienced culture related to Chinese Spring Festival at SIP One-stop Service Centre for Expats. They tried to make traditional Chinese paper-cuts and write Spring Festival couplets for decorating their windows and doors, played traditional Chinese games, and learnt to make Tanghulu, a traditional Chinese snack.

SIP’s sub-districts, scenic spots and commercial complexes hosted various events including concerts, bazaars and DIY activities to welcome the festival.

SIP Federation of Trade Unions said it plans to invest about RMB 5 million to offer gifts and activities to about 200,000 enterprise employees to help stabilize employment in SIP around the holiday.

The food markets of SIP’s neighborhood centers have announced to remain open during the holiday to ensure enough high-quality supplies for local people.

Moreover, the local cinemas have prepared diverse movies to meet the demands of different audiences. Suzhou Arts Cineplex said it will extend its opening hours during the holiday to offer about 50 daytime screenings plus midnight movies every day, and will provide 9.9-yuan family tickets for non-local people who will spend their holiday in SIP for prevention of COVID-19.
