The Chinese version of Shear Madness, one of the most popular productions in the world, received high praise from the guests and media when the trial run was given at the City Mart, Suzhou Center on Sept 25. That has made the formal performance during the upcoming National Day holiday more anticipated.

Shear Madness is a unique comedy-whodunit that takes place in the Shear Madness hairstyling salon and is chock full of up-to-the-minute spontaneous humor. During the course of the action, a murder is committed and the audience gets to spot the clues, question the suspects, and solve the funniest mystery in the annals of crime. The outcome is never the same.

Staged in Boston and the JFK Center for Performing Arts in Washington for more than 40 years, Shear Madness has been translated into 23 foreign languages, playing worldwide in a host of cities including Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, Melbourne and Seoul, and was introduced to Shanghai last year.

The performance will be given by Mahua Fun Age, a Chinese cultural company that focuses on comedy content, including plays, musicals, children’s shows, improv, online TV series and films. It will give the local audiences brand-new experiences.
