The Biennale of the 6th China Youth Sculpture, one of the three theme exhibitions of the 6th Suzhou Jinji Lake Biennale that opened in SIP on Apr 15, is underway in SIP’s Ligongdi Cultural and Creative Block.
Wu Weishan, a renowned Chinese sculptor and curator of National Art Museum of China, presided over the design of the exhibition, and Shang Rong, chairman of Jiangsu Sculptors Association, served as the planner.
More than 150 exhibits by young sculptors from around the country are on display in three parts themed “Culture • Dialogue”, “Time • Evolution” and “Suzhou • Jiangnan”, respectively highlighting progress of different civilizations, evolution of China and Suzhou culture.
Among the exhibits is the “Dialogue between Confucius and Socrates” which is based on the imagination of a dialogue between the two world-famous philosophers and manifests the concept of encouraging exchanges between different civilizations for mutual development.
