Suzhou was among the hottest tourist destinations in the country during the May Day holiday, over April 29-May 3. The Jinji Lake Scenic Area, one of the most sought-after scenic spots in Suzhou, recorded 1.1241 million tourist arrivals, up 54.39% over the same period in 2021. Tourists from outside Suzhou accounted for 69.57% of the visitors.

Statistics show that the operating income of nine major tourist destinations including the Jinji Lake Cruise, Ligong Causeway, Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre, Suzhou Center, Suzhou Eslite Bookstore and Jiuguang Department Store increased by 13.81% compared with the same period in 2021.
