As the gong sounds,the 2023 China Telecom “Hello 5G Cup” Jinji Lake Dragon Boat Race kicked off at Jinji Lake Urban Square, SIP on June 22 to celebrate the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival that fell on the day.

During the event, 60 teams competed in the 22-people 300-meter straightaway races and 12-men and 12-women 300-meter straightaway races, and six performed in the 22-teens 300-meter straightaway race.

A total of 1,398 people, including 172 expatriates from 15 countries and regions including France, Germany, the United States, Russia, Brazil, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, competed in the races.

The event also featured an online interaction with the dragon boat race on the Danube in Vienna, Austria, the performances of canoeing, stand up paddle boarding, sailing and surfing, an intangible cultural heritage bazaar, and a variety of online activities.

A number of public security officers, traffic police officers, firefighters, rescuers, volunteers and medical workers served during the event to ensure the event could go on in a safe and orderly manner.
