The Jinji Lake Scenic Area (JLSA), one of the most sought-after scenic spots in SIP, recorded 535,200 tourist arrivals during the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival holiday from June 22 to 24, an increase of 97.78% and 7.49% compared with 2022 and 2021 respectively. The total operating income of the nine major tourist destinations around Jinji Lake reached RMB95 million, while the average occupancy rate of eight hotels in the area was 78%.

The 2023 China Telecom “Hello 5G Cup” Jinji Lake Dragon Boat Race held on the Dragon Boat Festival was one of the biggest contributors to the sharp increase of visitors. It was reported by China Central Television (CCTV).

Apart from that, the boat tours, the audio-visual shows at Jinji Lake Music Fountain and diverse cultural and art events such as exhibitions, shows and parent-child activities attracted many people.

The sales promotions at Shin Kong Place, Jiuguang Department Store, Suzhou Center Mall and other shopping spots boosted consumption.
