The Jinji Lake Scenic Area in SIP recorded 1.7931 million tourist arrivals during the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday from Sept 29 to Oct 6, up 87.35% year-on-year.

Diverse events were held in the scenic area during the holiday, adding to the festival atmosphere in the area.

The “Encountering the Young Suzhou” flash mob shows allowed the audiences to savor the charm of the blend of Chinese and Western classic music and culture, and the surfing performances were exciting.

Many people toured Jinji Lake in boat. There were specially designed routes to make sure the passengers could enjoy the best scenes all the way through.

The Jinji Lake Music Fountain put on audio-visual shows which attracted more than 28,000 people during the peak hours.

The bazaars under the Sky Screen at Harmony Times Square and at the Ligong Causeway, Suzhou Eslite Bookstore and other places attracted people who fancy creative

gadgets.

The shopping malls offered not just discounts but also elaborately designed activities which allowed the shoppers to experience different cultures and art forms.

The Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre staged 98 performances, and a number of art exhibitions were held at Jinji Lake Art Museum, Ming Gallery of Art and other places.

The local authorities enhanced inspections and patrols around the holiday to ensure safety, and volunteers served at different destinations to answer tourists’ inquiries and offer other help to them.
