The Peach Blossom Island in the heart of Jinji Lake, with its name written by the late Chinese martial arts novelist Louis Cha, is hailed as “a place for retreating away from the world”. Recently, following the completion of a renovation project, the island has gotten a new look.

There are hundreds of species of plants on this 10-hectare island, making it colorful in all seasons.

The trees form a natural “oxygen bar”, and the 2.5-kilometer footpath around the lake is a good place to do physical exercises.

Artistic installations have been added under the renovation project. The one called “Carp Jumping over the Dragon Gate”, for example, is a token of blessing for visitors.

The exquisite Ziyin Tower pokes its head among diverse kinds of trees, looking at the modern high-rises Suzhou IFS to the east and Oriental Arc to the west.

There is also a new sailing club on the island, and the café and restaurant offer delicate drinks and food.

The Peach Blossom Time store offers diverse creative cultural products, seasonal flowers, and pastries.
