The 2023 Jinji Lake Modern Services Summit cum (Suzhou) Conference on Innovative Development of Petrochemical-related Financial Derivatives opened in SIP on Nov 16, bringing together government officials, representatives from exchanges, futures companies, research and advisory organizations, industrial associations and petrochemical companies to seek ways of promoting development of petrochemical industry with financial derivatives.

According to the Administrative Committee of SIP’s Jinji Lake CBD, one of the sponsors, the event was designed to tap new potentials for integrated development of innovative technologies represented by digital finance and advanced manufacturing represented by petrochemical engineering to drive high-quality economic development of Suzhou.

The two-day conference included a series of theme meetings focused on such issues as innovative development of financial derivatives for petrochemical industry, digital trade and cross-border e-commerce, and also several specialized meetings on carbon emissions reduction and energy saving, oil refining and so on.

Su Jian, professor at School of Economics and director of China Center for Economic Research of Peking University, Liu Guolin, deputy director of Information and Market Department of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, Wang Zhiqing, general manager of Hengli Petrochemical, gave speeches at the opening ceremony.
