The third Sino-Italian Cultural Exchange Festival allows people to experience Italian culture in an immersive way

The three-day 2024 (Third) “Festa dell’amicizia” Jinji Lake Scenic Area Sino-Italian Cultural Exchange Festival kicked off by Jinji Lake on May 17, offering the participants an opportunity to experience the difference between and fusion of Chinese and Italian cultures.

The event became special because this year marks the 700th anniversary of the death of Marco Polo, the famous Venetian merchant and traveler whose stories about Suzhou have promoted the links between Suzhou and Venice, which became sister cities in 1980.

The festival incorporated performances, a creative products fair, an exhibition of Italian auto brands, food, outdoor cinema, and several new components such as the parade of performers in traditional Chinese and Italian costumes, the masquerade, the candlelight concert, and the Jinji Lake - Dushu Lake Water Sports Races.

The 2024 (2nd) Jinji Lake Fashion Show was one of the highlights, demonstrating contrast and integration of traditional and modern eastern and western aesthetics.
