As an eye-catching landmark in East China, Suzhou Center, a mega urban complex manifesting the integration of man and nature, and architecture and city, has seen continuously increased influence and appeal since its opening in 2017.
Developed by SIP-based Hengtai Holding, Suzhou Center, with a total investment of about RMB13 billion, is deemed as a major infrastructure and well-being project to enhance the life quality and functions of SIP.
The project started construction in May 2012, and was inaugurated on November 11, 2017. With a total land area of 16.7 hectares and a floor area of 1.13 million square meters, it consists of four 5A-level A office towers, one W Hotel, two apartment buildings, one 300,000-square-meter one-stop shopping mall, one 50,000-square-meter trendy boutique shopping mall, and the peripheral ancillary projects. It is seamlessly connected to rail transit lines 1 and 3.
As an important part of Suzhou Center, Suzhou Center Mall, jointly developed by Hengtai Holding and Singaporean real estate group CapitaLand, has made continuous innovations and enriched its offerings over the past seven years.
The mall is a forerunner in responding to SIP’s strategy of “developing first store economy”, which means to propel economic growth relying on the first branches of domestic and international brands in China or in a certain region in the country. The “first stores” account for nearly 60% of the brands in the mall, and of them, 15% are the first of their kinds in Jiangsu province or even in the country.
Since its opening, the mall has renewed records in customer footfall and sales many times. The cumulative customer footfall is about 370 million, and the sales this year are expected to exceed RMB4 billion.
The mall has introduced more brands since the beginning of this year, including IRO, Self-portrait, Wilson, RedLine, ICICLE, and Diptyque.
A number of catering service brands that are popular among netizens, such as AhMashouzuo, tea’stone and NEED, attracted lots of offline consumers. The mall plans to introduce more renowned brands in the future to meet the demand of different customers.
Over the past seven years, Suzhou Center Mall has created a commercial atmosphere full of creativity, demonstrating the charm of SIP as a place embracing diversity, inclusiveness, innovation and international development. With diverse activities and great influence, it is helping drive the prosperity of commerce in Suzhou, and has become an icon of Suzhou’s urban modernization and economic development.
Located at the core of Jinji Lake CBD, Suzhou Center Mall looks like a pair of huge stretching wings protecting a 300,000-square-meter space with amazing lights and bustling crowd. It is a witness to SIP’s evolution over the past three decades, and a trendsetter. For the future, the mall will integrate more resources and give full play to its advantages to promote business innovation and provide customers with better experiences.
